Methodology

We compare bank accounts available in Italy on the criteria that matter most when you're new to the country: whether you can open the account remotely, whether Italian residency or a Codice Fiscale is required, monthly fees, whether you get an Italian IBAN, and what language support is available.

Data sources

Figures come from each provider's official website and public fee schedules. We mark the date each row was last checked and recommend confirming current terms directly with the bank before opening an account, since fees and requirements change over time.

Featured placements

Some banks pay to be featured at the top of the comparison list, particularly during promotional periods. These rows are always clearly marked with a "Featured" badge and are never mixed in silently with organic results.

Affiliate links

"Visit site" buttons may be affiliate links: if you open an account through one, we may receive a commission from the bank at no extra cost to you. This doesn't influence the facts presented, and we don't give personalized financial advice.
